Kinze ® Twin-Line ® Planters Are Now Planting Twin Rows!
Twin row configurations are now available in two sizes of Kinze’s most popular planters. New 3600TR Twin-Line ® Planters — available in 12 Row N and 16 Row N sizes, with mechanical or vacuum seed metering — plant 7 ½" twin rows on 30" row centers to take advantage of the extra yield potential revealed in twin row test plots conducted throughout the Corn Belt.
The 3600TR planters feature double 5" x 7" toolbar frame construction with heavy-duty wing hinges and industrial quality hydraulic cylinders. Push row units (the same used on Kinze Interplant ® Systems) are positioned to create 7 ½" twin row configurations, reduce congestion and improve residue flow. A specially modified “Y" tongue is used to accommodate row units spaced for twin rows in the hitch area and includes a 3 ¾" offset hitch clevis to center the drawbar with the planting pattern. Special offset push row unit mounts are supplied, as needed, to accommodate toolbar interferences.
Wing sections (four twin rows on 12RN and six twin rows on 16RN) are hinged to a four row center section (twin rows). The two wing sections can flex 7° (up or down) and are hydraulically locked for transport using an over-center locking mechanism. Two-fold, low profile row markers are standard equipment on 3600TR planters. Complete electric/hydraulic control of the row markers, standard point row clutches and the folding/unfolding functions are handled from a cab-mounted console. A user-friendly KPM III electronic seed monitor displays a full menu of population, seed spacing, area and planting speed data, with up to 36 rows illustrated on-screen simultaneously.
The transport system features a rugged 7" x 7" stainless steel-clad center post that rotates on two large tapered bearings at its base. This allows the 3600TR to fold in-line with transport widths as narrow as 11" 2". Absolutely no daily maintenance is required.
3600TR Twin-Line ® Planters are available with mechanical or vacuum metering systems. Kinze's mechanical seed meters — finger pickup (for corn or oil sunflower) and patented brush-type seed meters (for soybeans, milo/grain sorghum, acid-delinted cotton) — are proven over millions of acres. Kinze EdgeVac ® vacuum seed meters feature a unique design that minimizes the seed’s tumbling action or ricochet effect inside the seed tube, so they are especially effective on hillsides. This ensures accurate seed singulation for many crops, across a wide range of seed sizes/shapes. The low part count ensures low maintenance cost and allows fast, easy inspection and adjustment. Adjustable seed singulator brushes sweep away potential doubles or triples.
Kinze “Evolution Series" row units are designed with load-equalizing depth/gauge wheels, heavy-duty double disc opener blades and the strongest row unit shank in the industry. 3600TR planters are available with two down pressure configurations: (a) quick-adjustable down force springs or (b) pneumatic down pressure with a digital down pressure indicator and 12VDC air compressor package with 3-gallon capacity air tank. Closing wheel options include rubber or cast iron “V" designs.
The 3600TR also can be outfitted with a variety of row unit mounted attachments for conventional, minimum till and no-till applications, including no till coulters and residue wheels.
