Kinze ® Unveils New KPM III Electronic Seed Monitor
A new seed monitor that displays a full menu of population, seed spacing and planting speed data — with up to 36 rows displayed simultaneously on-screen — is now available from Kinze.
The new KPM III Electronic Seed Monitor is easy-to-read, highly intuitive and user-friendly. A population bargraph displays up to 36 rows and scans and displays average population by-row to allow the operator to visually compare row performance. With the simple push of a button, it can also present overall planter average population. The display console is housed in a rugged ABS plastic housing with universal ball-and-socket mounting device and is totally waterproof.
Seed spacing can be scanned either manually or automatically and is displayed in the lower left hand corner of the screen. All data is reported in real time, by-row or planter average. Ground speed (and drill shaft RPM info on models that are divided into multiple sections) is also monitored and can be displayed in the lower right hand corner of the screen.
A simple rotary knob turns clockwise or counter-clockwise to increase or decrease values, scrolls up or down to access various display modes and can be pressed to instantly enter mode selections. Arrow buttons may also be used in the value/mode selection process. Alarm volumes, plus LCD contrast and backlighting adjustments for improved daytime and nighttime visibility, are simple and easy to make.
Ten field area management counters are provided with simultaneous usage capable with any four. USB ports accommodate fast, easy software upgrades. Scrolling messages inform the operator of problems, such as failed rows or dirty sensors, and aid in troubleshooting.
