Plan Your Trip to the Kinze Innovation Center This Summer

It’s that time of year again when the kids are out of school and you’re looking for ways to entertain and educate your kids. The Kinze Innovation Center provides a great opportunity for families to learn about agriculture, the story of the Kinze, and Kinze’s role in advancing planters and grain carts. It offers many interactive activities and videos. It also has Kinze artifacts and equipment on display. Create your own grain cart or take a photos in front of your favorite piece of Kinze equipment!

Day Trip Option One:

Williamsburg Aquatic Center

Beat the afternoon heat with a trip to the Williamsburg Aquatic Center. It features a large water slide, water spraying features, a children’s slide and diving board, drop slide, and sand play area. It also has a large concession/picnic area with deck and grassy lounge areas.

Amana Colonies, IA

The Amana Colonies is a rich historical site offering several tourist attractions including wine shops, woodworking shops, handcrafted art, and other shops. Plan an afternoon walking stick adventure, see Iowa’s only remaining woolen mill, or sit in Iowa’s largest walnut rocking chair. The Amana Colonies are about 20 minutes northeast of the Kinze Innovation Center.

Day Trip Option Four:

Kalona, Ia

Kalona is known for crafts, antiques, and local products industry. Its historic business section features many popular local businesses and shops. Take your kids to Stringtown Grocery for fresh produce, baked goods, and bulk spices and groceries. Or take them to Yotty’s Ice Cream Shop for an afternoon treat. Kalona is about 40 southeast of the Kinze Innovation Center.
