Kinze Shines at National Farm Machinery Show

What a week it was at the National Farm Machinery Show! The largest indoor farm show in America celebrated its 50th anniversary this year and once again brought together tens of thousands of farmers, ranchers, agriculturalists and equipment manufacturers to talk about the best and latest in agriculture. Kinze, which also celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, made the trip down to Louisville once again and we couldn’t have been more pleased by the outcome. The show’s location provides a unique opportunity for us to meet with many of our loyal customers and dealer partners, particularly those located outside the Midwest. Overall, we were blown away by the size of the crowds and the amount of booth traffic we received this year! The 4900 Multi-Hybrid...

Youth outreach is a strong focus for Kinze Manufacturing – especially when it involves the opportunity to educate students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities. Our nation’s future prosperity is closely linked with student success in the STEM fields, and Kinze embraces opportunities to connect with the science, technology and agricultural leaders of tomorrow. This past November, Kinze had the pleasure of hosting a FIRST Robotics competition. FIRST Robotics Competitions combine the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Participating...

New Kinze Software Engineering Center to Support Innovative Product Initiatives

A new dedicated software engineering center, which develops new technologies and software support for Kinze’s leading-edge planter, grain cart and autonomy-driven product lines, has just recently opened in North Liberty, Iowa. The 2800-sq ft. facility, which opened in early December, currently houses five software engineers, with plans to increase staff to 20 in the immediate future. According to vice president Susanne Veatch, Kinze’s primary goal is to use the space to create software solutions that enable farmers to improve their productivity in the field. “Planters and farm equipment are becoming increasingly high tech. Therefore, just as we developed core competencies in the past through innovative mechanical solutions, we continue to develop core competencies today and tomorrow through new software-driven technologies....

Kinze Celebrates 50 Years of Disruptive Innovation

Has it really been 50 years? Hard to believe but it’s true. Kinze turns 50 this year. It was 1965 when my dad, Jon Kinzenbaw took out a small bank loan and founded Kinze Welding in Victor, Iowa. In the early days, the 21-year-old entrepreneur kept the doors open by performing whatever custom work should come through them, mostly requests from local farmers to alter, repair or improve a piece of farm equipment. One such request would help my dad make a name for himself in the farming community. When word of his repowered John Deere 5020 tractors spread, farmers from across the country called on the young welder for his services. Of course, it was innovations like the custom anhydrous applicator (1968), the...

Have a Merry Christmas!

As we give thanks to all of you for another wonderful year at Kinze, we reflect on the many blessings bestowed upon us this holiday season. How humbling it is to see all the hard work and dedication that has brought us to this point. This was a particularly special year for us at Kinze as we started production on the world’s first electric multi-hybrid planter and continued progress on the autonomous harvest system, the world’s first large-scale, truly autonomous row-crop solution. The excitement generated by these planting and harvest solutions has been absolutely phenomenal, and we look forward to further progress in 2015. So as we get ready to tie a bow on 2014, we would simply like to say thanks for...
