Technology Increases the Desire to Have More Technology

The farmer who planted the Crop Watch ’14 field ran into problems trying to plant two hybrids at once, wishing he could independently vary the planting rates of both. Kinze is testing machines that would allow this change, as well as many others. Both hybrids could be planted at whatever rate is selected, independent from one another. Beck’s and Kinze Practical Farm Research Update

According to Jason Webster from Beck’s, the technologies that make Kinze’s Multi-Hybrid Planter a success are soon to become the industry standard. The technology allows farmers to make full use of their land and resources by placing just the right hybrid on the right acre. Previously, farmers have had trouble deciding which hybrids would be the most successful over large stretches of land, but this technology allows them to pick and choose the hybrid that will work best on every individual acre of the farm. New Kinze Factory Delivers Customer-focused Experience

When Kinze says the customer is first, they mean it. The 4900 Series planter factory introduced the unique Lean Focused Factory Concept. By this method, the farmer specifies exactly what he or she wants and can adjust their order days before the equipment is set to be built. The ordered equipment is made exactly to the farmer’s request. This ultra-specific building is made possible by the factory’s efforts to make all functions extremely efficient, setting up assembly stations that allow a continuous flow of materials through the plant. Agrigold Partners With Kinze Manufacturing to Make Multi-hybrid Planting a Reality

AgriGold and Kinze recently announced their collaborative effort to test the world’s first electric Multi-Hybrid Concept Planter on a farm in Iowa. This breakthrough technology will allow farmers not only to automatically change the seed hybrid as the planter works in the field, but also vary seeding rates of each hybrid and change hybrids multiple times in the same field. AgriGold and Kinze hope this partnership and technology testing will help farmers use their limited planting time and resources more efficiently.
